Overview

Maltopia is a verified digital reference platform built to connect the traditional heritage of Indonesia with modern technology.

The product addresses two recurring problems at once: the lack of accessible cultural documentation, and the challenge of making younger audiences engage with that knowledge in a meaningful way.

It was built for a national competition held by the Ministry of Culture of Indonesia through Budaya Go.

My role

I worked as the web developer for the project.

One of the most memorable parts of the project was presenting it in front of a judging panel that included the Vice Minister, alongside two other notable judges. For our team, that made the work feel bigger than a normal product demo. It was a chance to defend the idea, the execution, and the relevance of the platform directly in front of people operating at a national level.

What the product delivers

  • A Cultural AI Assistant that helps people explore heritage information in a more conversational way
  • Interactive storytelling features that make cultural knowledge easier to discover and revisit
  • A modern web experience that makes verified references feel more approachable to younger users

Stack and delivery

The product was built with Three.js, Next.js, Supabase, and Gemini.

My work covered software development across the web application, including AI chatbot integration and 3D model related product surfaces.
